Services and Staff
The Kapiti Retirement Trust is one of Kapiti’s largest employers.

Wendy Huston
The General Manager employs over 80 staff and has overall responsibility for all the activities of the Trust. The role encompasses the sales process of the licences to occupy and implementing the strategic direction and developments, as determined by the governing Trust Board. She is supported in the role by two group managers and together, these staff are the management team for the organisation.

Keren Lusty
The care of residents is led by the Group Manager, Residents’ Care, supported by a team of three managers and a ward clerk.
Clinical Team Manager – who oversees the day-to-day running of the wings and manages a team of registered nurses, caregivers and housekeeping staff.
Activities Team Manager – is responsible for ensuring her team provide a range of ongoing activities for Lodge and Apartment residents. Many of these activities also involve residents from the villas both in attendance roles and also the residents who become volunteers in the Lodge.
The Care Co-ordination Manager – works with the team to ensure there is ongoing support for residents in the apartments and villas. Members of the care team work out in the Village, meeting with and providing support on any matters which have the potential to concern residents.
They provide support and advice if additional services such as personal care or house cleaning and laundry services are needed by residents. While the cost of such services are met by the resident, the care team can assist in accessing the services required.

David Blair
The Group Manager Support Services has responsibility for the administration, finance, grounds and maintenance of all Trust property and facilities which are spread over three sites and cover more than 16ha.
Staff within the administration team provides coverage seven days per week and are located in the main building at Sevenoaks.
Work of the eight members of the grounds team is allocated by the Grounds Manager. With around 400 gardens, their work in maintaining and developing the park-like environment the Village is renowned for, never ends. As well as extensive lawns and gardens, the team also works hard at developing natural habitats for the abundant bird and water fowl which inhabit the areas around the private lakes at both Midlands Gardens and Sevenoaks.
The Maintenance Manager runs an extremely critical and ever-busy team. As well as being heavily involved in upgrades of villas; the team provide ongoing support to all residents in the villas, apartments and Lodge. They are available to carry out repairs, alterations and even change light bulbs and batteries in smoke alarms. Depending on the task, a charge to cover costs may apply for such services.
